Jamie and Jon

A wet, soggy week leading up to their wedding day meant that Jamie & Jon moved their ceremony into The Saddlery of Menangle Country Club.

There were rows of long bench seats, strings of pretty fairy lights strung from the rafters, a wide aisle for a grand entrance and a rustic wooden arbour decorated with Australian native flowers.

Jamie’s mother was born and raised in Menangle Park, and this became a sentimental reason for choosing Menangle Country Club as their wedding venue.

When it came time for Jon to propose to Jamie, he was very thoughtful and planned it with detail…

Firstly, the date was 20 Feb 2020 (all the 2’s). Jon admits that he isn’t very good with dates, so this was an easy one for him to remember!

Secondly, he booked a dinner reservation at The Village at Narellan – the same as their first date.

Thirdly, he chose a very special diamond to give to Jamie. The very same diamond that belonged to his Grandma, whose birth date is the same as their wedding date.

Then, on 20 Feb, he arrived home early from work, to officially ask Jamie’s father for his daughter’s hand in marriage.

Later that night, with the approval from both of Jamie’s parents, Jon was increasingly getting nervous as he and Jamie, casually went shopping before dinner.

What he didn’t plan, was for Jamie to enjoy dragging him shopping for longer than he had hoped… because, that beautiful diamond was ‘burning a hole in his pocket’.

Anxiously, Jon waited until after dinner, and in front of the fountains, he finally asked Jamie to be his wife. And, of course, she said yes!

Jamie was definitely unaware of Jon’s intentions that night… because if there had been any clues, then before going out, she would have fake tanned herself and washed her hair!
